Artist: Anton L Koster
Anton L. Koster (1859 - 1937) was a Dutch painter and designer. He was best known as a painter of flower fields. Inspired by Impressionism and the warm, expressive colours he had seen in France, he specialized in painting flower fields. He also admired Claude Monet's painting Bulb fields and windmill at Rijnsburg (1886). He was very successful with his work and was called the 'Rembrandt' among the Dutch flower bulb painters. Several of Koster's paintings were purchased by Queen Juliana. He also sold a lot of work internationally, especially in the United States.
