Edward Francis Burney (1760–1848) was an English artist. He went to the Royal Academy School from 1780 and was encouraged in his career by the Academy President, Joshua Reynolds. A superb draughtsman, Burney spent most of his career producing book illustrations, although he also painted some portraits. His work included historical subjects and portraits of friends and family. He exhibited at the Royal Academy. In the 1820s Burney painted four large watercolours satirising contemporary musical and social life possibly intending to publish the prints, but they were never engraved.
