Margaret Stoddart, (1865 - 1934), was a New Zealand artist. Her childhood was spent in New Zealand and Scotland. By 1885 she was one of New Zealand's foremost flower painters and respected institutions bought her work for display. In 1898 she sailed for Europe and spent the next 9 years travelling widely - England (where she lived in St Ives), France, Italy , Norway. She was strongly influenced by the impressionist movement.
